With so many lenses to pick from, why go to the trouble of adapting an FD lens?
I agree, and there are a slough of better lenses in the easily adapted M42 mount and others.

I just always liked that lens and wonder how well it might work up close. My AE-1 and my 4x5 are the only film cameras I have left so the 50 is not getting used.
