If Godox wants to take a leadership position they should, in my view, build a 600EX-RT compatible V580 ETTL speedlite that also has a Cells IIc trigger capability to support the 180/360 lights in H mode.

It seems to me the main market demographic for this lighting system is event/wedding photographers. We want/need ETTL capabilities. Personally, the 600EX-RT Gr mode is the best solution currently available. Yongnou has been smart enough to recognize that requirement.

Adding Lithium-Ion and bare tube would make it perfect.

something that Godox won't touch,
barebulb flash with wireless capability and TTL

at this point, Quantum Trio still wins

Wow, I should have checked his website. I thought for sure he'd announce it right here as soon as it was available.

I did too, but I seen it posted in the v850 thread by abbadon31. So I ordered mine last week from Edward. And it came today.
My old cheetah V850 with his new roommate the V860 on the right.

Thanks, it used to be a pair of canon's 430 and a 430 EXii

Now, if its flash related. It's coming from Edward/Cheetah.

Why do you say Godox won't touch this?

They have already said previously that they are working on the TTL models, and I'd be surprised if that doesn't include radio transmitter.

I don't know,
maybe I got source with wrong answer from Godox,
asking the same questions and got answer,
Godox think, speedlight is for amateur who needs TTL
and barebulb is for semi pro who don't need TTL

Godox barebulb open to lots of improvement,
especially if they learn from Quantum,
I look on AD-360 and doesn't interest me at all,
I am using Quantum T5-DR, better design, weight just good better than AD-360
and Quantum radio FW-7Q fits nicely into T5-DR body,
not like FT-16 that looks stupid hanging on AD-180 body, bad design !

Godox Ving 860 also needs to improve on their design,
I think, if Godox will make Ving 860 using LP-E6, this might kill Canon 600EX-RT instantly
reason is :
- LP-E6 is better quality, cells inside is better compare to Ving 860 batteries
- some people got lots of LP-E6, for photos and videos, they gonna love this
- LP-E6 got better circuit to check on battery status, Ving 860 battery is kinda stupid,
the indicator not accurate in flash body
and put their radio inside Ving 860 body is a good idea

Yea, Just Maybe you got your source wrong. What works for some folks may not work for you! Meanwhile we are going to enjoy our purchases...

+1

I Love my Cheetah V850 and V860. A big reason for such love, the "stupid" battery.

BAD design point (to my mind) of the v860C is ....NO BEEP. Makes remote power settings a PITA to check. Other than that, seems a good little unit at a fantastic price.

An awful lot more people - including very, very many on this Forum - haven't got a single LP-E6 battery to their name (eg. users of 20D, 30D, 40D, 50D, 1D in it's various guises). Why condemn them to paying GBP £72 for a Canon battery when they can all use the Godox original at GBP £24? Plus they'd need a GBP £43 Canon LC-E6 charger as well, their camera would come with some other charger not an LP-E6 fitting.
£24 or £115 - total no brainer - and that's without even considering potential patent problems with Canon. Nope, that battery is fine as it is now.

Beware holding up Quantum (owned by venture capitalists, I believe) as shining examples. All may not be quite as it would appear to be (I can say no more than that at this stage).

Phil ǁ Kershaw Soho Reflex: 4¼" Ross Xpres, 6½" Aldis, Super XX/ABC Pyro in 24 DDS, HP3/Meritol Metol in RFH, Johnson 'Scales' brand flash powder. Kodak Duo Six-20/Verichrome Pan. Other odd bits over the decades, simply to get the job done - not merely to polish and brag about cos I'm too mean to buy the polish!

LP-E6 batteries have 33% less power than the Godox one, they ARE NOT HIGH DISCHARGE CELLS, making them unsuitable for flash. if they make a high-discharge LP-E6, it would have even less capacity.

by my tests, the v850 have a decent battery scale to measure capacity. better scale techniques need to discharge battery a bit, test with various currents, and after a few seconds, it will give a better charging state. but this would also add to the cost (every battery would need to have a "extra" IC and extra connection to the flash to do this.)

Nice is that used or new

I check the cost of the package your talking about and for the Flash/battery/trigger/receiver looking about $1,684.00

The AD-360 /CL-360p Price: $729.95 Flash/battery/trigger/receiver

I agree on that part,
just because I don't know the discharge capability of LP-E6

actually, I am aware of it but don't have any information about it

hahaha,
bought it several years ago and kinda forgot about the price difference

Godox can make some improvement on the wireless thing,
it really looks stupid FT-16 hanging on the AD-180 like that,
they made a better design with FT-16s on Ving 860 but still not precisely fit

and maybe it's just me, I think using FT-16 is kinda strange,
I have to push SET button to confirm adjustment to the slave unit

I mean,
compare to Quantum Pilot it's easy, just dial the settings and it changing,
what I don't like about Quantum Pilot is the battery part,
using CR123, not easy to get, expensives and got to bring a spare because you don't know how many power it got left and quick drain,
FT-16 using AA is cheap and easy

like you said, looking to the price difference,
it's OK lah, hahaha ...
