After 5 years we get a 70D with the zero removed. Really? If Canon would have released this 3 years ago they might have gotten away with a little grumping but by waiting 5 years to upgrade I believe expectations are quite a bit higher especially now with Sony releasing the A6000 which at least on paper is a much better camera for a lot less cost. Not sure why, but call me JJ.

There isn't really a direct competitor to this camera. But without an improved AF system, I would consider it a bit disappointing. The noise is nearly identical between the 70D and 7D according to all the lab tests. IQ is very close as well. The new SOny A7000 shoots 10fps and claims exceptionally fast AF and for $560. When a mirrorless entry level camera smokes your top of the line crop camera, it's time to rethink your strategy. Not sure why, but call me JJ.
