Some REALLY good entries this week. Glad I'm not picking a winner this week. Good luck to all.

Yep, Scatterbrained seems to have gone missing. Wonder if something's wrong.

Having to pick one out of many good photos kinda' sucks, sort of like picking a favorite niece or nephew.

Any suggestions on how to move on so we can start another challenge?

Maureen I guess one of the seasoned members here can take the initiative of judging & announcing the winner and take it on from there. I hope others agree with this option.

Not saying that I'm judging, but my personal favorites this week are:

1. Bobster's Apache helicopter
2. Airfrogusmc airplane
3. Voaky999's Sprinting
4. Groundloop's Sprint to the Finish Line

Honorable mentions:

Jason C's Schizm
JM Photo's Seattle's Great Wheel in Motion
Loky's In a Hurry

I think Bobster's Apache helicopter is am amazing shot. The shutter speed was perfect and caught the blades in perfect motion, the helicopter is sharp and really pops against the blurred background. For those that have never tried taking a photo like this, it is VERY difficult to pull off. Kudos to Bobster for this wonderful capture.

Airfrogusmc's white airplane against a black sky is a stunning image. I love the stark contrast of the empty space. It made the image feel classy. I almost feel what the pilot in that airplane must feel - all alone in an empty sky. Really cool photo.

Voaky999's Sprinting captures this week's challenge perfectly. Horizontal lines are straight, colors are nice and saturated, runners are clearly moving fast, but the composition of the two sprinters and the positions of the bodies adds a symmetry that I really enjoyed.

Groundloop's Sprint to the Finish Line also captures this week's motion challenge beautifully. I love the expression on the runner's face. The focus and determination on his face contrast the observers' disinterest in the background. Sharp subject with a beautifully blurred background.

I loved all the entries this week, but these really stood out for me.

I look forward to the next challenge if we ever start it...

Loved Groundloop's image. I could feel an internal balance shift when I first saw it. That's how well it conveyed motion to me. Great shots, all.

Well thanks for the good words. That shot was from the very first race when my daughter was on the cross country team and it was the very first time I'd tried shooting runners. (I'd shot airshows for years and figured shooting runners couldn't be too much different - WRONG). Anyway I just decided to experiment a little bit and turned the shutter speed down to get some panning shots, about a tenth of a second later Andrew ran past me and luckily I wound up with that one.
