Hey folks, I am currently looking to purchase the lens listed above and was hoping some of the gurus could tell me if there is any date codes or other features to watch out for. I am wanting a good clean sharp copy. please advise if you can

gonzogolf dumb remark memorialized More info | Feb 19, 2014 11:55 | #4 On the 70-200 2.8 IS MKI there is a date code on the back of the lens above the glass on the flange. Google should find you a list of the date codes. Canon seems to have discontinued the date code on the update of that lens.
