This is my first post of a pic taken with the 20D. I'm still learning. Natural light and a bedhead girl. I didn't do any PS except for unsharp mask and crop. Still learning PS, too. Whew!

She's a very beautiful girl. I'm sure you must be proud!

The picture turned out pretty good. I like the lighting and the catch light.

Nice shot. It looks soft to me also. Some USM and curve adjustments in PS would help a bunch. Welcome to the forum.

I could not work out why this looked odd to me then I noticed. Her lips look very red almost as if she were wearing lipstick butof course she is far to young for that. From what you say you have not boosted the saturation or played with the colour?

My niece had very red lips that gradually toned down alot as she got older. But from about 2 years old until about 12, her lips were really red.

She's just very fortunate to have red lips. She inherited it from me, I can get by with just gloss and look like I'm wearing lipstick. (I'm sure you care  ) I didn't muck with the color because I was afraid of messing up the pic.

I would appreciate any help in the PS department. Like I said, I'm still learning it. I'm going to be taking a class, but it doesn't start for another month. Thanks!!

WOW, that made such a difference!! Thank you! I'm going to play with PS a little more tonight. You've given me the spark to learn more. I shouldn't be scared of PS....I mean, not as scared as I was of the 20D, right?!

I'm sorry... IMO this looks oversharpened and oversmoothed. Makes her look like a manequin, you've eliminated the natural texture of her face.

Cute girl, nice shot, keep learning Jenna!

I have a really friggin expensive camera. Wanna match 'em up?
