It was well worth the time taking this trip. I often take train trips whenever I visit a new area, and this one didn't disappoint. It takes most of the day, so it isn't for everyone, but the scenery is great, with lots of photo ops, and the trip is relaxing.

Similar to Moose1971 above, the first picture is actually the pusher at the end of the train. Second shot is the front.

Cool. If I'll ever go back to that area I'll see if I can make it :) We had just one day going from Phoenix to Flagstaff so we chose to visit some national monuments and Sedona.

We did take the train in Durango, which basically took all day. I still have to post some pics in this thread :)

this is a brand new road overpass (after literally 100yrs) crossing the few remaining tracks heading out of town...
