The war bonnet paint scheme is disappearing more and more every year. Great shot! My grandfather drove for Santa Fe his entire life, both freight and passenger back in the heyday. There was another fantastic shot of a war bonnet engine on here somewhere too. Love it!

I didn't know I would find any train related threads here!
Here's my personal best so far. I'm hoping I can get a better updated version this winter. This was taken with a PowerShot A80 in December, 2005.

Fietser:

Those are wonderful shots. Unfortunately, they exceed our limit of 800 pixels on the longest side. I've changed the images to links for now till you can re-size them.

Thanks,

Tom

Both are excellent. ;)
Sorry, but I changed # 2 to a link, as it's larger than the 800 pixels on the widest side as allowed by posting rules.

The Captain and crew finally got their stuff together, now if we can only remember where we left it.

Well these certainly are not my best. Just been in a funk lately. Odd readings and what not.
Here is NJ Transits newest locomotive. Alstom built using the ge p42 body styling, EMD's 16-710 4200 hp engine and someone elses electronics. NJT has to always reinvent the wheel.

Now your typical EMD GP front. GP40PH-2 is closing in on 40 years of service in NJ.
