A genset (low emission) locomotive of the Modesto and Empire Traction Company, working the yard at Empire California. The railroad started out as an all electric line back in the day.

Retro... L&N light engine move at Limedale, IN. 1981. Kodachrome. The tracks he's crossing are long gone and the area to the right of the picture is now heavily wooded with 30-ft tall trees. You'd never know any tracks were ever there.

P.S. I had a bunch of slides scanned at ScanCafe four years ago and the ones I've posted are pretty much "as is". One of these days, I'll get these in to Lightroom and clean them up a little...
