I agree re the front, the problem was that as it was a Halloween event the area it was facing had almost no lighting at all, it was only the street lights down the side that gave me anything. I will probably be there next year to shoot again for the NNR, I will know what to expect and can try to resolve these issues. Looking forward to it already ߘ

Don't give up! If you shot in RAW, you might be able to pull out a little detail in the front.

Suns in fire season can looks even more amazing than this one.

Not much was done to edit this image. I darkend the area around the tracks so they popped a bit more, but the color in the sky is pretty representative of the real thing. We had a haze in the sky around Milwaukee for about 2 weeks over the summer and it provided some amazing sunsets.

Know you posted this over 3 months ago (just flipping thru some recent posts in this thread) but is that scenic ride out of Skagway, Ak? Yukon and White Pass or something like that? Did that in 2009, loved it! Too bad the engines aren't vintage correct.

Yes, that's the train. Started out cloudy and raining, but it cleared up by the ride back down. A great train ride.
