Great pictures! Do you mind telling me where these pics were taken? The first one looks like it could have been taken in Elkhart, IN. where I live.
My father was a railroader, so I was in the Elkhart yards several times until my father retired in 1975.

He was a conductor on freight trains.... going from Elkhart to Chicago but for a while he did conductor work on passenger trains. I have his uniform.... heavy wool pants, vest, coat, and 2 hats with all the buttons for both New York Central and Penn Central.

I never learned when he did the passenger work, now I wish I knew. He never did passenger work under Penn-Central; I was a teen by that time and would have known.

He started with New York Central somewhere around the 1930's then retired in 1975 from Penn-Central. I believe he started as a brakeman on freight trains.
