The poles are there to hold up the fence/netting that keeps falling rocks off the tracks. No real getting around them, as they pretty much line the route of the canyon. Sadly no good place to stand on the side of the bridge actually facing the yard. Didn't feel like standing in traffic was the best idea. This side there was a sidewalk. At least I got something! I want to die peacefully, in my sleep, like my grandfather.
