Hi Jontie, Both are very good shots. :)
My thoughts on the second one are that you can add to the impact of this image by cropping the blown looking sky out, right down to just below the top edge of the mountains. ;)

The Captain and crew finally got their stuff together, now if we can only remember where we left it.

I posted a similar shot to this one a few weeks ago in a different thread. I like the look of the scene with the snow and steam together. Unusual these days. Taken just before Christmas last year with a 1D 111 and a 24-105 L lens. It looks as if the picture has been desaturated but it has not. The locomotive is A4 "Bittern" shot in Norfolk UK.

I know this is stretching the topic a lot, but I just learned recently that these were built by the same company that produced rail cars for many years and built the first diesel-powered streamliner train, the Burlington Zephyr.

A WWII era Budd RB-1 "Conestoga..."

These were built using the same spot-welded stainless steel construction techniques pioneered by Budd with the Zephyr.

I should stick around you a little closer, John. I'm always learning something new. I don't recall ever hearing of this plane. I also was unaware that Budd ever produced an airplane.

I'm not short. I'm concentrated awesome!
