The sun is going down earlier & earlier. Have you thought of shooting it again, but in the evening light?

I will, but I was there to catch the Acela as it blew through the commuter rail was an extra.

My wife was sure I was going to sucked into it as it went past at 150 mph, being about 4 feet away it is amazing how fast that thing goes by!

I am going to video it and see what I can get, also these were my first tries on trains will keep practicing and at different times of the day. Weekends are best since there are less cars in the lots as they are commuter lots but I will watch the weather.

I am trying to find out how I can determine when there are freight movements I see them but it is a matter of luck being there when they happen.

I didn't think they got so fast in the USA. I figured 90 or 100 mph, maybe they run that fast in the Baltimore-Philadelphia-NJ area.

I was on a train from Madrid to Barcelona and it topped out at 300 kph (180 mph). I tried to take pictures from the window but the foreground was too distracting- all blurred.

They will hit 150 in the Mansfield area of Mass and often around my area. I took the Acela to Washington DC a few years ago and took my garmin with me to monitor the speed and we were hitting 150+ through Connecticut and part of New Jersey.

At Canton Junction I might have been a bit optimistic on the speed, it may have been closer to 100-120 but it was moving especially when I could have stuck my arm out and touched it! No guard rails or anything, just a warning bell and a voice "Train Approaching stand back"

Funny that is the same reaction my wife had! But I didn't feel any "suction" or anything trying to pull me in, knock me back a bit yes.. But I am 6 feet tall and 250 pounds

As I mentioned now that I am retired I am starting to work older pictures that I took but never did anything with them.

Here is one from 2007 with my Digital Rebel, the original Rebel.
