That's one mean-looking machine!

Still waiting for the wisdom they promised would be worth getting old for.

Germany is like a giant train set. There are 3 trains, a bridge, lots of tracks, a tunnel, and a turntable here.

Wow. Magnificent.

That's one fast steam train (Mallard).
Keep them coming

Just for you, I had a trip to the National Railway Museum in York last week. As you will see Mallard is in residence though not in a very good position for making images. Rather tucked away in a corner. Though you just have to try and do your best ;-)a

Another image from my recent visit to The National Railway Museum at York. You can just see a portion of Mallard beyond GNR number1.

Part Description from the web:-

Steam locomotive and tender, Great Northern Railway, 4-2-2 No 1, designed by Patrick Stirling, built at Doncaster in 1870, withdrawn in 1907. These locomotives were characterised by a single pair of large driving wheels, of 8ft 1in diameter.

Thanks Peter.
Surely is a work of engineering finesse.

Interesting reading too.

Love your photography site. Very nice.

835 and 926 both running today (27th Sept 2019) as part of the North Yorkshire Moors Railway 2019 Steam Gala, on a very wet and miserable afternon.

926 is Named Repton, entered service in May 1934 and withdrawn from service in Decenber 1962. 825 hasn't got a name, entered service April 1927 and withdrawn from service in January 1964. Both are part of the North Yorkshire Moor Railways Home Fleet.

Your comments/thoughts are welcomed.

I totally disagree, such a sight is anything but miserable. ߘ
The atmosphere created by the ܢatmosphere” makes it for me.
A couple of great old girls out for a run. A sight to be seen.
Great shot
