I totally disagree, such a sight is anything but miserable. ߘ
The atmosphere created by the ܢatmosphere” makes it for me.
A couple of great old girls out for a run. A sight to be seen.

Thompson B1 Class 4-6-0 No 1264 and Collett Manor Class 4-6-0 No 7820 Dinmore Manor at the Gloucester Warwickshire Steam Railway's "Cotswold Festival of Steam" in May this year.

southern california outside the populated areas or farm land does look like this. we had similar landscape in northern california (north of san francisco bay) too.

Pretty standard for May to November. Those are our "golden" hills.

The coastal to inland areas of Northern/Central Calif. usually don't see any rain for about five months.

It's harvest time, which means the fruit packing plants are running full tilt in the Sacramento Valley, which means plenty of carloads for the California Northern RR
