Thanks Jeffrey. In 2012 Norfolk Southern painted twenty locomotives in the paint schemes of their predecessor railroads. There are a number of them that are just fantastic looking, this Southern Railway unit among them. This particular locomotive was built in February 2012.

Considering how incredibly dull their normal black/white paint scheme is they make a nice change of pace when you see one. In fact, they are so popular there is a website and mobile app that tracks their location via the public uploading sightings, which is how I knew to get into position to shoot this one.
