Charles the thrill of train ride and holidays damped the trauma. Our parents didn’t give it too much attention either to help take our mind off it. Some ice from the restaurant car bandaged around the fingers was all. I guess we were at the age where it was not cool to be hurt, and mope. This has happened to both my brothers and me at least once. It’s mainly bcos one of us is playing with the window and it comes down. :oops:

Five engines pulling hard on an unusually long mixed freight. I think they are running fewer, longer, trains lately. This is leaving Port Chicago California, infamous for a WW2 disaster where a munitions ship exploded while being loaded.
