I assume that this little car is a commuter, as I see lots of adults in the end window and children reaching out from the side. ![]() When I showed this picture to a Cuban friend, she told me that right after the revolution she lived in a town so small that it didn't even have a secondary school, and that she had to commute to a school in Mayarí in a rail car much like this. I took this photo near Mayarí in 2013, so it looks like fifty years and two generations later the same story is still going on. I'm beginning to think that every good photo contains a story, and that gives it its evocative feeling whether or not we know what the story is. I don't know anything. But I know other things.
