It's a small line that runs between the two towns on about a six mile stretch of track. Coopersville has a population of about 3900, while Marne is probably around 250, so I really have NO idea what they would be taking from one town to the other in these boxcars. I think they just wanted an excuse to drive the train on this beautiful sunny morning. - 5D & 60D (x2), EFS 10-22, EF 17-40L, EF 50 f1.4, EF 24-105L, EF 100-400 L IS

Yes, and judging from how clean it was, I'd say it's pretty new...or they don't use it that much (probably the latter). - 5D & 60D (x2), EFS 10-22, EF 17-40L, EF 50 f1.4, EF 24-105L, EF 100-400 L IS

Some more photos of the C&M RR: http://www.railroadmichigan.com/coopersvillemarne.html It looks like a GE 44-ton switcher. If so, they were built between 1942 (the year I was built) and 1956. I'm not short. I'm concentrated awesome!

The railroad is their pride in this small town, so I don't think there is any shortage of volunteers to keep things in good shape. - 5D & 60D (x2), EFS 10-22, EF 17-40L, EF 50 f1.4, EF 24-105L, EF 100-400 L IS

That one looks fantastic! I shoot with a Little Canon

It's pretty hard to get an action shot without some sort of clutter. I'm not short. I'm concentrated awesome!

I think the highlights on top the loco are a little 'burnt out', but the whole scene seems to work, for me at least. Nice shot! I agree with belmondo...although I might be tempted to photoshop the gray box out (or crop the photo tighter). However, it's all a part of the RR scene, so I wouldn't worry about it too much. I had such an enjoyable day out yesterday, and decided I needed a bit more 'reach' on my 28-105 so have just ordered the Canon 24-105L IS this morning - It should be here tomorrow Not sure what to do with the 28-105 now though...You lucky dog! I'll take that other lens off your hands if you feel like donating!! - 5D & 60D (x2), EFS 10-22, EF 17-40L, EF 50 f1.4, EF 24-105L, EF 100-400 L IS
