In the heat of the summer sun. Nice Station sign but it is a shame there actually isn't a thing there but rail, ties and ballast!!

Maybe we need a new thread - just for railroad station signs?

"We" have a lot of those too. One of the reasons that the BNSF has a very stable stock in today's volatile market too! LOL!!

odds are that means that a way long time ago there was a settlement at that location called Cool Water and the only thing left of it is a railway light or other rail property quite common

The only train I've ever shot (except with a BB gun when I was a kid). This thread has given me some ideas, so I'll post more in the future.

^ Cool shot!
I would like to see some more of that bridge... the perspective is a little weird here ;)
Looks kind of odd/cool with the traffic lanes top center, they seem to end nowhere and the tree is covering it

It's the old Mississippi River Bridge in Vicksburg, MS. It's closed to traffic, but the railroads still use it and they use the road for service vehicles. They get down via a ramp that can be seen in one of the images I've linked. I'd show the images here, but they don't include a train!

The local short line at work taking iron ore to the port of Richmond (California) to be loaded on ships bound for Asia. It's fun to watch them run right down the street.

Nothing to write home about, but I keep trying to get in the right place at the right time for good train pics...

Very nice classic EMD. They are being replaced by the PL42s. Was that in Westwood?
