Ed, I caught this same one (same spot) on Saturday afternoon with a line of cars behind her, but the sky wasn't as nice as your shot. Thanks for the tip.

Been lurking and looking for awhile, I'll never be as good as some of you guys but figured I'd try posting one. My view from the cab of Amtraks Acela arriving just a couple minutes out from Union Station in DC. To the left CSX tracks to Baltimore and beyond.

Why would taking pictures from the cab be illegal?

Not at all, I've have had my picture taken so many times you would think I'm famous.
All any of us railroaders ask is that you stay away from and off the tracks. You never know what might be hanging off of a freight car.

I know that most Class 1 railroads (don't know if you work for a railroad) you can't use any electronics while on duty (I work for a Class 1). I do when I know who the engineer is and if hes a cool guy.

I had to drive over to Felton (Northern California) yesterday, so I made a short side trip to Roaring Camp where I was fortunate enough to catch the #7 Shay and #2 Heisler (both ex-Westside Lumber locos) steaming up in preparation for the day's excursions.

My fault I misread, not sure about the legalities but rules, different story, which is one of the reasons you'll not see a lot from me on here.
