I also love those pictures!! My dad was a railroader starting out with NYC then retiring from PennCentral in 1975 as a brakeman/conductor of freight trains. He would occasionally take me to the rail yards with him. Those were fun times! There was one trip he had on the RR he thought would only be a 2-3 hour run, but turned into an all nighter that he took me and my brother on. That was also fun to get to ride in the ..... oh what are they called? The rr's don't use them anymore.... oh yea a caboose! I sure miss seeing those at the end of a train. For a very short period of time before I was born he was a conductor on a passenger train with NYC, and I have his full uniform
