If you could only have 2 lenses what would they be

If you owned a APS-C and a Full Frame Body and you could only on 2 lenses, which 2 lenses would you own

The reason I ask is this, I have a 7d and a 6d, I own a 70-200 f2.8 mk2, when I purchased my 6d I didn't realise that my old tammy 17-50mm was not suitable for full frame (yes I know I'm stupid) and now I need something that isn't a 2KG monster to make the most of that extra sensor size

I'm thinking 17-40 f4 would be quite nice, it would be very wide on the 6d and a useful walk around on the 7d, also a 24-105 would be a nice walk around on the 6d and a reasonable zoom for the 7d, If I had a little more money I would probably go for the 16-35 f2.8

I shoot EVERYTHING, from sports to weddings, to family, to landscape, to animals.

24-105's are really affordable right now.

35 1.4. sigma or the L, i had both and enjoyed them both. on a crop it was a bit tighter than id like for indoor stuff though. and a 85 prime.
if youre going for zooms 24-105 sounds like a good idea. didnt like it all that much for the short time i had it, but it was just so versatile that i really thought about keeping it.

Full frame 35mm and 135mm

Fast 35mm and 85.

Tamron 24-70 2.8

If limited to current lenses,
24 1.4 (crop FoV 38mm)
70-200 2.8 IS (crop FoV 112-320mm).

16-35LII and 85LII

To keep costs in check, sell the 7D, and buy a 50mm 1.4 and a used 24-70L. You'd have your fast prime, a walk around that would also be good for weddings, and your telephoto. And overall you would hardly be out any money.

16-35L and 24-105L, but i really feel happy and proud that i passed that point of i must/have to decide/choose only 2 lenses, in fact i am now in position where i don't know which lens to choose if i want to shoot something, for example, sports i have 300 and 70-200 and 100-400, landscapes i have 16-35 and Sigma 12-24 and TS24 and also 24-105L.

To me, it is always a personal decision, you can't, never, able to make people choosing 2 lenses the same for all, your budget factor and type of photography always have an effect on your decision.

I read the question as the OP asking for 1 lens to go with the 70-200. Could the OP clarify this is the case or they are seeking 2 lenses in addition to the 70-200?

If you don't mind the weight, get the 24-70mm f/2.8, then you've got everything from 24-200 @ f2.8.

As for me personally, I'm really loving my primes, and I find my 28mm & 50mm primes are always on my camera.
