Great 2 lens setup. There is very little you could not cover. congrats

Thanks, now I just need a 2x extender and I'll have 24mm to 640mm with just 2 lenses and 2 bodies. :)

2 lenses only - that's easy! I bought a new camera towards the end of last year and, so far, I have only mounted 3 of my lenses on it so the choice is easy - 300mm and 800mm (the 3rd lens mounted on it was also a 300mm).
Am I sad?

Life is for living, cameras are to capture it (one day I will learn how!).

16-35 and 70-200
Works for 90% of what I do, anything else typically requires one of the "big four" (300 2.8, 400 2.8, 500 and 600 f4)

Tough question followed by tougher answers.
One is easy.....Canon 70-200 f/2.8 L IS
Two. 24-70 f/2.8 L Mark II. Or the Canon 24-70 f/4 L IS. The f/2.8 vs the IS saga continues........

And I continue to say that if you only have two lenses, then if you're on FF, 200 isn't long enough, and if you're on a crop, 24 isn't wide enough.

Been walking my 5D III around with the 35 mm f/1.4 L and the 100-400 L.
Broke the 35mm so now it is the Mark I 24-70 until I get the 35mm fixed.
Two lenses in a heavy bag.
The good thing is you can use filters without adjustment rings across the two.
Maybe the dust pump has a reputation, I do not know or care. It there is enough light, you get reach and you can isolate the subjects and flatten the perspective zooming away. Might sound stupid but I traded out the 70-210 f/2.8 IS and got double the length with lot less light. Suited me.

For my APS-camera (SL-1) I got the Sigma 30 mm f/1.4 after having tried the 40 mm pancake, the 17-40 zoom and the 28 mm f/1.8. I am sure Sigma will come up with a beautiful Art series lense for portaiture to complete the set. In the meantime, the 100mm f/2 goes into the bag. Or does not. This Sigma is very difficult to remove from the EOS SL-1 body.
Your hands do not want to do it.

On the ZA Safari I had two bodies (EF-S), one with the 50-500 Bigma and the other with the 24-70 L.
A monopod is a must with long lenses.

A 70-200 would be my first choice, with perhaps something longer (400mm or so?)as my second.

Maybe someone should start a thread asking about which 3 or 4 lenses only to have.

24-70 and 70-200. That covers most of what I do.

Ideally!

24L II and 85L II

I can just rent whatever specialty lens I need for a job, for the work I do now, these would cover everything nicely.

For me its my 35 1.4L and my 85 1.8 on my 60D.
But, if I wanna go really light, an excellent combo for my 60D is my 40 STM.

I know, that's three, but that's my choices. Can't help it.
