Nikon question, move if necessary.

Why ask on a CANON Digital Photography Forums if you should purchase a Nikon? Wouldn't a Nikon oriented forum be a more appropriate location?

That's the main function of the camera, my guess is the owner found the issue to be not just a cheap fix and is now trying the head ache off on top someone else. I'd say if you have the cash to blow and think you can fix it the do it if not then leave it be.

Seriously, you guys are thinking waaaayyyy too deep about this. You can control the settings, view the screen, zoom the lens. The ONLY thing you can't do is press the shiny button and snap a picture. It really wasn't that hard of a question was it?

Can you use a remote shutter to snap a photo or does that not work either?

Thanks to the ones who had legit answers, the others can continue being D bags. The reason I posted this question on this forum and not a Nikon forum is because I own a Canon. I didn't see a reason to create an account for one question when I know for a fact plenty of people here have experience with Nikon cameras. I'm not trolling by any means. I am simply new to DSLRs and had what I thought to be a simple question. I wanted to know if it would be a simple fix, if someone had fixed this problem themselves, or if it was a lost cause. Once again, thank you to the ones who answered my question. The rest of you can go back to being internet gangsters and electronic smart asses to someone else.

Name calling certainly won't contribute to the quality of help you receive. You didn't really provide a lot of information about the problem, "doesn't take pictures" can entail an extremely wide variety of issues. If you can offer some specific symptoms I'm sure you'll get more help.
