Usually what happens when what has to be said about the topic has been stated about 5 different ways, and then you end up with a subset of members that use the thread as their pull toy, running it all over the place instead of finishing up things. :D

This type of action is pretty easy to catch with the 6D. It has no problem focusing where I put the AF point (which isn't always where I want it :P)

Shooting certain action sports is a P.I.T.A. I got some nice shots of the local Quidditch team, but it was not easy. You'll definitely miss the 7D's or 5D3's AF when shooting the fast action.

Just get the camera for your shooting style (that you can afford).
