Awkward pose and too shallow DOF - the lighting is Ok but that is the only positive I can give it. My name is Henk. and I believe "It is all in the eye of the beholder....."

Feb 21, 2014 05:22 | #5 i agree with the others, upside down poses are hard to do. you really need to make the eyes prominent so that the viewer can connect with the subject, there is no connection made here. Canon 5d mkii | Canon 17-40/4L | Tamron 24-70/2.8 | Canon 85/1.8 | Canon 135/2L

Feb 22, 2014 17:09 | #6 Thanks everyone for your input. I am not shocked by the criticism as I was not sure about this shot myself and that's why I posted it. And I am glad I did. Personally I did not think that the pose was that bad but it is clearly disturbing for most and it only proves how we differ in our perception. And samsen, I absolutely love the illusion images remark

I always have after effect of regret, when leaving my opinion on their works because I know how wrong things can go when emotion is involved. In response to your mature reaction, let me share with you another image in your line of creation that I saw long back but had that positive impact on me to the extend that Déjà vu of your image made me to go back and find it so let me share that with you and see if you can make the difference between the two images, visually, in terms of success. As Image is not mine, I am going to leave the Weak retaliates,

Upon first viewing, your brain is trying to work out the orientation of the model and/or the camera ... usually this isn't what the photograph was intended to elicit. ah, the sofa's vanished ... one mystery less then !

Mar 09, 2014 21:08 | #11 Well, the model did this pose and I captured it so yes, people do these things and sometimes it happens that there are other people around them to capture it, even if they're upside down. Might be unpleasant but it still happens. But since so many of you find it disturbing, then have a look at it with the eyes in the right place. any better?...:
