This is Sebastian, my favorite subject to take photos of. He is a show/working dog and always a willing subject in front of a camera. This is my first photo up for Critique, was taken at my friends farm super early morning before leaving for a show - fire away :)

He's beautiful...I want him! Is the grass coated in frost? I might consider cropping a little off the top.

What a handsome boy, with a nice stack. Gorgeous subject. But then, any dog who competes in both conformation and working events has my attention.

Have you cropped the image? I'd like to see a little less on the top. I'm unsure of how he's framed left to right. I might like to see a little more on the left (so his body is centred) or a lot more on the right (so his head is centred). Actually, if there is more to the right I don't think less on the top is required.

I like it, & would crop off the bushes in the background. Maybe a little off the bottom, too.

Thanks for the advice, I will crop it up a bit more and see how it goes. The frost was very heavy that morning!

Neacail - He's a lovely boy - he's 2 1/2 and finished out 2013 as #4 Rottweiler in Canada, and so far for 2014 is #1. He's also a herding/tracking/drafting and obedience (Utility hopeful) dog. So all around handsome and smart to boot with the best personality one could ask for.

A handsome fellow, indeed! I'd crop a bit from the top. I like the fact that you got down to Sebastian's level to take his picture. Very good.

nice! you could probably even clone out some of the bushes so you don't end up with a square crop, unless you want that. great dog.

Great portrait. Next time I'd suggest going for more DOF (tripod and slow shutter if necessary) to get all of him in focus since he seems content to hold a pose well.
