I know you Brits get "Take to the Cleaners" on equipment, but that works out to
the New, off the shelf price, that you can but it for in Canada.

Yes we do (But its cheap for here that's why I posted).. not my type of lens anyway as the only bird shooting I would do would be with a 7.62

It typically costs around £10,000 here, so (if I had the money) I would love to pick that one up for £5,899

Got my 800 for a bit less but that is still a good (UK) price.
Unfortunately we do, frequently, get ripped off in Britain. Though back in 2006 I was visiting Edmonton and Calgary and found Canadian camera/lens prices higher than here at that time.


Life is for living, cameras are to capture it (one day I will learn how!).

Lens prices do vary from country to country, week to week. I doubt anyone is thinking of permanently moving based on this. Do the best you can and ignore the prices elsewhere.
