You’re sure based on what? There are a lot of examples of photographers (professional or amateur) getting paid for something just like this.

Yep...let's just say I'm in a similar situation at the moment. Once the copyright is stripped AND there was a willful infringement the damage is huge. On top of that if your work was also registered well...even bigger. Even without 'willful' infringement copyright removal you can still go after for the usage.

I love the armchair lawyers on this board :)

Hey hey hey now, at least we're better than the unwashed masses who think they own the copyright just because they're in the photo.

If you don't want to see your work on others sites, blogs, Facebook pages and everything else on the internet, don't post them. Any good attorney will tell you that.

So basically we must ASSUME that everyone is a crook and act accordingly...nice...
It's issues like this where it becomes public, that the general public tends to get it's information...and some actually realize what copyright means.

EOS 6d, 7dMKII, Tokina 11-16, Tokina 16-28, Sigma 70-200mm F/2.8, Sigma 17-50 F/2.8, Canon 24-70mm F/2.8L, Canon 70-200 F/2.8L, Mixed Speedlites and other stuff.

When it ceases to be fun, it will be time to walk away

Hey, if she didn't want to get assaulted, she should never have worn revealing clothes and walked down the street! Everyone knows that!

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

How is she going to "stick it to them"? She will get not a single dollar from them, Im sure. At some point she will send a letter as an attorney representing the photog (herself) and they will end up taking it down before anything is filed in court. As an attorney, she knows time is money and any time wasted on this case is loosing her own money knowing that the only outcome will be removal.

Why not read this read with a recent real life example. Note that the photographer got much more than a take-down of the offending image:
