I really like the 2nd to last shot of the cross. The stars are a nice touch.

Really enjoyed the balancing rock and the church cross.

How much rough trail walking did you do to get your images? They are very good shots!!! I am wanting to visit big bend but I'm mobility handicapped and use a walker.

Thank you! I wish that I could have hit the park at different times, but some times on a trip, you take what you can get. Would love to see this park in bloom, after teh monsoons.

Joe - there are a lot of easy trails throughout the park. The park also does a nice job with pullouts providing a lot of river and mountain views.

On the set above -
Santa Elena Canyon - Flat trail with a boardwalk trail to the river, a short walk to the river. Hit it early/late (faces mostly south) and it will give you a great view of the the two canyon walls and the river through them. (Google Santa Elena images and you'll get the idea) This shot above is further up the trail which requires stairs and a few switchbacks.

Balancing Rock - To get to this there is a rocky climb required near the end.

Movie set - Good surface, walk down from the road to just above river level. Hope it's not an issue for you, it's pretty cool.

Over all I think that you that this would be a great park for you. Going again I would stay a couple of nights at the motel in the park. (It was sold out) That would have provided me with better light on the trip. Good luck and if you have any other questions, please let me know.

Thanks for posting those beautiful images.

Several, I think, would be even better with some judicious cropping to help the eye focus in the same way it would on scene.
