Hi all, I currently use a Lowepro 250 back pack, but I am looking to buy a smaller bag that fits my 7D with 17-40 with attached lens hood (not reversed).

Thank you for your help...

Perhaps one of the Lowepro TLZ's. I use one for my 50D - 24-105 f.4.

I went with a Caselogic SLRC-202, I mreturning it as it is small and not well made. I ordered a Lowepro Inverse 100AW.

From what I've heard the hood for the 24-105 fits and works fine with the 17-40 on a crop sensor.
This will open up more options as the 17-40 hood is pretty much useless on a crop body and if you like you can carry a 24-105 and a 17-40 with only one hood.

yes, that's good to know, even the hood of the 17-55 f2.8 they say would fit, but I would prefer the 24-105's... I'm just looking for a used original hood, or with third party hood which has the velvet lining. The third party hood without lining can cause some light bouncing off it and causes problems, I have experienced this a few times with a 85 f1.8 and the 50 f1.4
