A couple of weeks ago, Andy Richter, Conan O'brien's sidekick, came to our curling club in Orange County to do a segment for the show on curling. Andy is a total laugh riot and we had a blast with him. I'm the girl with the curling stone hat and red kilt on Andy's team, at about halfway through. We are trying to get to a 1/4 million youtube views, and are at 208,000 plus so far! Check it out. I am not sure if I"m posting this link right or not. Google "Andy Joins a Curling Team" if this link isn't it.

That's funny as heck! Nice cap.

We've got quite the curling contingent up here in Seattle. Some old family friends have been into it for years.

I curled in the Seattle Granite Club funspiel last year in April, and it was a BLAST! Brady Clark and his wife curled in it too, and he won nationals last year and had the cup there, serving rum punch from it. We brought 3 teams from Orange County to it and I"m registered to curl in it again this year. It is one of the best bonspiels on the coast!!!

Do you recognize any of these Seattle curlers? They killed us in this game, but we won for having horse heads on our brooms!!! I went to the local equestrian center and took photos of a horse head and BAM. Style points. lol

Sue, that was great. I didn't even know HB still had a ice ring let alone a Curling club. Nice hat too.

There are a few ice rinks actually, but only the Rinks at Westminster have curling houses/rings painted on them and rocks for us to use. We are in the process of raising money for a dedicated curling ice facility like the one that just opened with our friends at the Coyote Curling Club in Tempe, Arizona! I'm headed there with my Thirst Response team (or Fireball Dragons, not quite sure yet) to curl in the Hotter Than Hell bonspiel July 16-20, 2015. Drop in if anyone is in the area!
