Not really, it's picking them with your approval. If you don't like the settings it's showing, you simply dial in exposure compensation, which even that I rarely have to do.

Agreed. This is how I shoot 90% of the time. If they allowed the 5d3 to do min shutter speed of more than 1/250, lets say 1/5000, then I would be shooting Av 99% of the time. The other 1% would be when I need manual for my speedlites. Av is just the way to go for me. So convenient. my EC is permanently stuck at +2/3.

Agree.

Even better if it allows you to manually set whatever the minimum shutter speed is....

Alternatively just give me M + Auto ISO + EC just like the 1DX ;)

One of my biggest pet peeves on the 5d2 was actually the LACK of min shutter speed with auto iso. That killed a lot of my wide angle shots because when I used my 17-40, it was always trying to do 1/FL which was WAY too slow to some of my shots. Thank god they fixed that with the 5d3. Now I just wish they could do auto iso in M mode and then you would have complete freedom.

I have also start experimenting with Av lately. Auto ISO is definitely the best way to go.

I have Av, min ss set and +1 and 2/3 EC dial in.

It's almost bullet proof.

Hmmmm....why not just use the green box?

Because then you have zero control... Why is this so hard for some people to understand? Does it make people feel like more of a man to say they "only shoot M"?

Don't bother explaining to Bakewell, he's clueless....

I mean he use all points enabled to do AF tracking, enough said....

Never said you were, I just don't get your failure to understand the usefulness of Av and auto ISO.

I use AV and Auto ISO probably 50% of the time...
