I am trying to improve my photography and editing. How could I improve these?

Great shots!!! I see very little problems here, just her skin tone seems off in #1 and the vignette maybe a little too much. Your off camera flash seems too high of power (or too close to subject) and it is giving that hard shadow. I would have moved it off to either side a little more as well.

The only issue I have is there should be a bit more of her and less background. You've selected some nice scenes but perhaps got a little too carried away showing them.

the tones in #1 and #3 don't do a lot for me, her skin colour is the same the wood, but #4 I think is a great shot, love the shadows and the window! Improvements I would make would be to a crop it a bit more and pull back the yellow tones slightly - she's looking a bit yellow on the face and hair (at least on my monitor!)

ETA: on that 4th one I can see now she's actually sitting in the yellow light, so I guess this is acceptable given that fact! :) Really like it a lot !

You're doing great :)

When I'm editing and I'm not sure how my tones are looking, I'll pull up a pic I really like and kinda see if I'm on the right track by comparing someone else's photo to mine. Gives you a bit of a bench mark when you're feeling at a loss!

In some of these, the model's face looks strangely artificial, like a doll or a mannequin, and I don't think the skin tone is the only reason. I think you sharpened too much.

I like the poses, but I think you should crop closer, like others have said. I feel like she gets lost in the scene. They also feel a little dark to me, I almost want to see some sunlight framing her, something to draw you into the photo a little more.

The first two look really good to me, maybe just crop a little closer.

In the third one she looks a little 'vacant' in her eyes (maybe bored?) and the last one I'm not sure the expression 'fits' - maybe a more thoughtful expression would suit the surroundings?

Like them though.

Agree - but nice work for sure.

Is that your flash reflected in the window? If so, that's a technical mistake, unless it's intentional, in which case it's just odd.

Sad but I didn't see that.......I think maybe my eye thought it was a parking lot light since I was on second floor. Don't know how I missed that.

It happens. But we always have to watch out for it, because it's not always easy to remove it in post.
