Question to you guys. Our local lifetouch franchise is hiring a lot of photo retoucher and i have a big chance to be in because i have 3 friends working there plus our neighbor(house next to ours) works there as well.

My question is... Do you think i will let lifetouch have me or would you advise me to pursue getting my name in the photography business on my own and be free?

Any advise will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Doesnt hurt to get some experience with them and then branching off later.

Whether the position is for a retoucher or photographer, as Omar said, any experience can be a positive thing for your future.

I'm shooting a little of this and a little of that today.

Nice Gene. I bet you could crop closer with the extra pixels the A7r affords.

True, true. In fact, this image hasn't been cropped at all. I kinda liked the small golden butterfly amongst the greens and purples,

I dont think they will. The 1.4 lenses are already large from Sigma. Cant imagine how much larger a 1.2 from them would be

For you it matters, but it doesn't for me, and i will expect it will be large anyway, sometimes you can't have everything at once, so i can sacrifice weight and size for performance as f/1.2 and fast AF if possible.

I probably should have shot this wide open...love the Zeiss 55 f1.8.

Here's one more using the 55 f1.8 @ 2.2

And i really pray if they work very very hard to give it f/1.2 as well, then i can say good bye Canon 85mm 1.2 plan.

Apparently the Nikon mount is unable to support f1.2 lenses. In the interest of designing Sigma lenses that can support multiple lens mounts, I can see why Sigma would never release an f1.2 lens.

That said, having owned several f1.2 lenses, the difference between f1.4 and f1.2 is negligible. People get more caught up in the f number, than the actual real world impact. I'll take an optically superior, yet cheaper, 1.4 lens over an f1.2 lens any day of the week.
