Wow i want your lens. Whats the widest aperture of that?

ON the APO Sonnar it's F2 but the rendering style of this lens is very similar to the Otus.

Is it a native for sony? If so and the price is good, that could replace my 135L. Thanks for the info.

King adapter so far....

Adapter arrived last week and joined my $10 dummy adapter in the bag. Lenses are Canon 80-200L, Zeiss 21, 50 and CY Zeiss 28.

Went up to Skagit last night to check out the Tulip's progress. I was glad I brought up the dummy adapter with me since the King wasn't looking promising as I connected it with the Zeiss 21mm. AF isn't really my concern obviously but I do want to control aperture.

Results:

Canon 80-200L with King. Slow AF, but it gets there eventually and with exif. Nice sharp results again eventually. I use it for landscapes so I can wait

CY Zeiss 28 with King, you get exif. Works also with the dummy adapter. Had one instance of light leak.

Zeiss 50 ZE with King, you get nothing. Even with a Canon extension tube, doesn't connect electronically. No aperture so its wide open by default. Cleaned all contacts with deoxit. I assume this is some kind of QC/sample variation flaw.

Zeiss 21 ZE with King, connected electronically about half the time. So I got f11 and exif on half my shots. f2.8 and nothing the rest.

Those are my observations so far. I will contact the factory in China via ebay and see what they can offer. I hate to go metabones since its twice the cost and AF isn't really crucial to me. So far, if I have to have the shot I use the dummy adapter and the 28mm

if that zeiss 135 is native to sony, that would be awesome.

I don't own a sony yet. I just rented one and an adapter to see how good it is and if my canon lenses really works. it does. and as soon as my 5D3 sells, hello Sony A7R.

I'm just an occasional portrait shooter so i thought of going for a smaller body so i don't have to buy another one for some family travel. At first I was gonna buy the Sony A6000. But then i thought if the A7R is small, why not go for a switch so I can have one camera only but still enjoying the fullframe goodness.

The said slow AF made me want to rent for a test run. turns out i became a manual focus convert.

I only have extension tubes to test for you. The zoom focus assist must be really helpful for that purpose.

My Indian Hawthorne bushes should blossom any day now and I want to try and get some macro shots of the small flowers that result.

Here's a shot taken late this afternoon showing just a small bunch of buds.

^ nice shot Gene, great lighting!

Today we went for a drive along some back roads and came across a large group of California Bighorn sheep. I was out the sunroof taking some pictures as these guys stood above me on the hillside  A7R and FE 55
