Nice Japanese garden Baan. I like the close up detailed shots as apposed to a wider, more general view. I wish I had the skill to construct my own garden like that.

I spent a little time this weekend doing some night shooting on the streets and used both a7R and 5D III. What a difference! I got nice clean files from the a7R and horrible noise from the 5D III. Leaning hard on the a7R's awesome dynamic range, I intentionally underexposed (to preserve highlight detail) whereas with the 5D III, knowing that it sucks with shadow detail, I had to shoot at the "correct" exposure.

Full disclosure, I was shooting a stop wider on the a7R (different lens).

a7R + Zeiss Otus 1.4/55mm:

Nice looking shots David. I havent shot a single frame on my A7R since my 5D3 arrived last week. I think after the initial honeymoon period things will equal out a bit. Im loving the 5D3 files but what I have noticed already is that I need to be careful with my metering. I like to shoot Av mode a lot and the other day took a series of shots when out with my son and found when I got home that they were all slightly underexposed (due to the metering mode and technique I used). The files get noisy quick when bringing up exposure even if its only a slight increase. Not something you have to worry about with the A7R as you know.

I love my 5D III and am glad to hear you're enjoying yours!

After my experience over the weekend, shooting both cameras in tandem, I realize the unique strength of the a7R in low-light photography. When I shoot throughout the the day, I frequently use both cameras interchangeably and love the results of both. And, of course, if I want to shoot my wonderful 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM, the 5D III is a dream to use. It's great having two tools with unique strengths for different needs. :)

BTW, speaking of camera comparisons: I am planning to do a little experimenting with my 14-24mm on the a7R as well as on a friend's aD810. I'm interested to see if there is any image quality difference between the two cameras that share a Sony 36MP sensor. It's pretty cool being able to compare a lens on different manufacturer's cameras.

Looking forward to your findings. I'm planning on doing something similar but with the 16-35 IS and on the 5D3 and A7R. Just not got round to it yet

Just catching up...

Omar, very cool looking night shots.

Alfredo, love the super long shutter speed result as well as your sunrise shot.

David, nice night scene shots, especially hand held (I presume).

Vinz, that 135 seems to be working out great for you.

Thank you guys!

David/Eddie, I need to take my 5DIII out for a spin. Been sitting on the shelf too long.

Nice and sharp shots David.

Here is one that is a little departure from what I've been sharing recently Not super crazy about the composition but horses don't listen to posing directions. Still, I thought the sun beam was interesting. That's not photoshopped either.
