hope they'll do that to the next A7R. I don't care if they put low pass AA filter.

Which one is correct? ![]() My given name is Nadim (Lebanese originally). I go by Dean to a lot of folks. It was originally a bastardization of a shorter version of my name "Nadeem" became "Deem" to many who didn't quite get it when I introduced myself (I speak rather softly), which in turn became "Dean". I found it easier to let it be and over time it kinda stuck. vinmunoz wrote in post #17555597 Thanks for your info Lucas. That should help me determine what to get next time. Maybe an A7S II is still far from even a rumor. I want that IBIS. Maybe I will end up with A7II. The little AF PDAF advantage, IBIS, a more quiet shutter, and the new shutter location is what I'm looking for. A7II should make you happy. Shutter button and sound are much better IMO, and most importantly the IBIS is huge (since I use manual lenses that are now all stabilized). I almost never go above ISO 200. I don't shoot dark rooms, bars, etc (I've seen Lucas' stuff and the A7S makes perfect sense for him). For me, I like being able to shoot a legacy 135mm manual lens at 1/30s handheld at ISO 200 and still get perfectly sharp shots (and yes, I have done that and am not exagerating). Sony A7RII and a bunch of lenses.

I get fantastic results on silent shutter on my a7S...can't imagine what I might be missing. I guess I need to do some pixel-peeping side-by-side comparisons to see what the degradation is. And I keep wondering if using the silent shutter adds longevity, since camera longevity is typically measured in mechanical shutter actuations. Any thoughts on that?

May 14, 2015 13:38 | #7061 Well we had luck with the weather the last day, perfect to try out my CV15. After a first outing im really amazed by the quality it delivers on the A7R. Its also very interesting to use as it is so easy to get the subjects sharp. F8/f11 and focus to 1m and youre good to go. I must say the 15mm focal length is really significatnly wider than 16mm on my 16-35. I already love that lens as i somehow feel it is sharper in the edges than the 16-35 sony at 16mm but has more CA than the sony. Sony A7RII | Sony A7S
