yeah with the Sony 55mm 1.8 focus is way to show for moving action, when the subject is standing still i get the shot, when the subjects are walking i miss the shot...

Wow that's not good. :(

I finally got to run the A7r through the paces for night photography and I won't be missing my 6D at all :) Shot with Zeiss 21mm.

I never learned, today I took many snapshots at the local Smith's super mart, and forgot to go manual iso , so shooting Av and auto iso, the A7r took several images at low 1/60 and worst the 55F1.8 was not focusing well under dim lights...never had so many that I had to discard for not sharp focus..
this one is at 1/60 F2.5 iso 100

this one is at F4 yet the focus is not sharp 1/60 iso 200

Do what all the street guys do, zone focus.

This. I pretty much never focus more than once when doing street, even when shooting a 50mm at f/2, learn to eye your hyperfocal and you'll never need AF for street.

dtufino wrote in post #16948875 (external link)
Manual Focus.... Canon Lenses...

And? Don't the Sony/Zeiss FE lenses have hyperfocal? I know on my Fuji their done in the camera, either through the EVF or on the LCD which is a little annoying, but it works the same way.

Wow that's not good. :(

It's pretty well known at this point, the AF is fine for static subjects, but not really up to the task of tracking. I say this with respect, my Fuji has the same issues but I still love it ;)

^^I agree. Amazing to think of all the effort that went into that one exposure. It was well worth the effort I'd say.

Not nearly as interesting but here is continuing trench work for a Riverside County storm drain. First concrete pour should be Friday.

Taken with the Sony 24-70 f4.
