I wonder how bad ISO 400k looks, especially since the top "normal" ISO is 25k like my 5DIII. Even ISO 100k looks pretty bad on my camera.

Heya,

I expect over the next few years for ISO performance to continue to get better and better. So I'm not surprised. They have to have something to keep the dSLR very valuable to the photographer in the future. Having supreme ISO performance is one of those things.

Might as well add some high ISO samples. Looks pretty decent, even the ISO 25600 image.
