Thank you John & Ed ! I am pleased that you liked it well enough to take the time to say so.
Every now and again I get lucky. I'm looking forward to the day I can set up the camera to pull these shots off consistently and with confidence.

I got this one on my belly with a 70D & EF 100-400 @ 400mm / f8 / ISO 125 / 1/640.

Ever hear of Fire Ants ?? :o

Very nice shot at a super angle. Fire ants don't sound like good photography partners. :)

Heh, heh, heh...... you be right about that Grizz ! We don't contend with them things in Cold Country, I"ll be a little more vigilant next time fo' shure !

Educate me now......Both you and John mentioned the "Angle" ( and I should have asked John and others too ) What is it about the angle that caught your eye ? Is it his positioning or the down low perspective or something else ??

Hi Ted, be careful where you lay down.

The angle refers to the straight on view, eye to eye so to speak. It gives the best representation of the animal most of the time. You want to aim to be on the same level as the bird or as close to it as possible.

Exactly! +1 Most bird shots are either looking up or looking down, that straight on view is always nice.

Ahah ! I get ya..... so just for clarification and other technicalities aside, the following two Snowies at least have a good angle and something to strive for ?

Yepper great angle on the Snowy. We all learn the things we know from someone else. I've learned so much here its scary! There are some folks here that have forgotten stuff I Haven't even learned yet. :)
