Just went to buy another LP-E6 battery & charger from SterlingTek for an upcoming trip and noticed while going through the check-out that it was only $20.49 (shipping included).
I was kinda puzzled at first because the battery is $13.99 and the charger is $14.99, then I noticed a promotion discount of $13.85. It only applies the discount if you buy a battery & charger.

Not too bad for a SterlingTek battery and charger ($15.13 + $5.36 shipping), even cheaper if you have Amazon Prime.

As do I with my 60D which uses the exact battery mentioned.

Yes. Been using it for my cameras and don't have a problem with it at all. If you read the forums, lots of praise for SterlingTek and Wasabi batteries.

Ok, I've never heard of them.

Some of the companies out there you have to be really careful with, they will use really cheap (junk) cells in their battery packs and try to pawn them off as OEM replacements.

SterlingTek has actually been around for quite a while, I think the first I remember hearing of them was about 10 years ago.

It's always good to have recommendations for a reliable second source; thanks for the comments on the SterlingTek and Wasabi.

I'm well aware of the issues with some junk 3rd party cells, especially with Lithiums (and their fire hazard); that's why I asked the question in the first place.

Thanks for the information. I just ordered mine. I have used SterlingTek batteries since I bought my 40D in 2007 and have never had a problem with them. I have an older SterlingTek that I purchased for my 7D and it does not show charge level with my 5DIII, however, I understand the newer batteries show all the information with the 5DIII so I will know soon. All of the SterlingTek batteries I have owned charged with my Canon chargers and this is the first STK charger I have purchased.

SterlingTek batteries/chargers are first-rate as long as you buy them from ST or a reputable seller like Amazon; in other words, a path that minimizes the chance of getting rebranded stuff. I have been using them for years also, and no problems whatsoever.

My Sterlingtek LP-E6 batteries have retained their recharge ratings better than the OEM battery that came with my 60D. Since I'm using a battery grip, I have 3 of the Sterlingtek's..... all of them have been stellar.

Ok, I've never heard of them.

They're just rebranded chinese knock offs with their name on them. But hey they work just fine, no problems with my DSLR and mirrorless. A little over two years on my first set.

Sterlingtek FTW. Never had a problem with them on my 7D or 6D.

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.
