The power poles around us are scheduled to be removed and the lines put underground so I will not have any wires and poles near me much longer. It will be a nice vision upgrade I think.    I saw this pair Sunday morning also, pictures taken Monday. The female almost knocked the male off of the pole when she landed.  See they are breeding.

They also will use nest boxes. The nest site is probably close. Do some Internet research about nest box size. If the wood power poles have woodpecker holes, that could be where they are nesting.
