Anyone know a fix for this? How much do you think this would cost to fix? How serious is this?

:( I'm really disappointed in myself. I thought my camera was on the strap. :o

Just send it to Canon to get an estimate.

Doesn't look bad... does it focus?

It focuses for the most part fine. Nothing was really affected beyond that.

I'm worried because of resale value as well as compromised weather sealing, and overall cosmetics.

Yes, you have compromised it.

It definitely looks weird.

Can't pop it back?

I've tried. I don't want to exert too much force on it.

Use it and love it. It's a tool... and a nice one. A little superficial damage should just add character. If you ever do want to sell it then send it in for repair... but until then USE IT HEAVILY!!!!

I kind of tend to use my camera in rain fairly often. That's another reason I'm worried. God forbid I get water in my lens.

That is a valid concern. Perhaps Kanye's suggestion of sending to Canon is best then.

Looks to me like the lens would be decentered now. Lens group 1 is definitely off-kilter. I'd read and try this - http://www.lensrentals.com …technique-gets-a-makeover (external link) , then if it is decentered, I'd try and reposition the focusing tube, using whatever force is needed, or some small disassembly. If it's decentered, it should be repaired, and if you can fix it yourself, great. If you muck it up more, no big deal, as it needed repair anyway.

If steroids are illegal for athletes, should PS be illegal for models?
Digital - 50D, 20D IR Conv, 9 Lenses from 8mm to 300mm
Analog - Mamiya RB67 Pro-SD, Canon A-1, Nikon F4S, YashicaMat 124G, Rollei 35S, QL17 GIII, Zeiss Ikon Ikoflex 1st Version, and and entire room full of lenses and other stuff

You now have the world's first 24-70 tilt-shift lens. Try taking some photos with the miniaturization effect.

Always an optimist in the bunch :)
