Just got back from a killer drive after spending a week chasing Sea Eagles, only got out on the boat once!

These are not captive birds, but they have rings for ID, there are only 16 breeding pairs on the island.

Quick, send the bottom one out to the printer and hang it on the wall!

A simply smashing set of pictures and well worth the effort you put into getting them

thanks for sharing.

Thanks all, as far as visiting Skye goes, do it. It's an incredible place, although I would go out of season otherwise it's a tad busy!

Great shots!

This is presumably the White Tailed Eagle - Haliaeetus albicilla?

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

Thanks, yes it is the White Tailed, I'll take your word for the Latin!

Yeah, it's sort of the Eurasian cousin of the North American bald eagle (which is Haliaeetus leucocephalus). Looks pretty similar too, except for the white head (leuco cephalus)! :)
