Had to turn in a portrait for school, she came through for me last minute!

comments, critique, gripes etc are welcome. I am pretty new to portraits and need all the help I can get.

One way to easily improve this type of portrait is including a rim light. Her hair and backside are getting lost in the background. I also think there's too much extra space on the left for the 1st one and on the right for the 2nd one.

Thanks for input. I had a hair light , just another mono light on a boom, with the grid on if. Should I have made it a bit brighter or brought it closer to subject?

Hair separation looks ok on my monitor. Model's pose with her back arm and shoulder tucked behind her makes them look lost in the background though :-)

I think it's how you angle it and where you have it land is the key here.
