What lens from any manufacturer would you like to see reintroduced or updated?

I was just browsing through some of my older pics and really did like the majority taken with the discontinued 28-105 f/3.5-f/4.5 USM II. Roughly the same overall size and with the same snappy USM motor as my 85 f/1.8, it was a real gem especially when you factor in it's cost of around $200 at the time of purchase.

I'm certain that there are other discontinued lens favorites and others that are still in production that my fellow forum members would like to see updated, so how about posting what you would like to see get resurrected or simply updated.

I think the lens I would love most to see updated right now is the 16-35 II... Something to match the IQ of the 24-70 II especially near the edges.

I'd like to see AF on Zeiss lenses.

I think most if not all of us would like that. Think Canon will go for it?

What does Canon have to do with Zeiss lenses? Question should be, will Zeiss go for it?

Not sure why, but call me JJ.

Either a 400mm f/5.6 with IS or 135L with IS.

Possibly update the 50mm f/1.4, so it is without AF problems.

Instead of updating the 400mm, they could introduce a 500mm f/5.6 IS, or an 85mm f/1.4.

Thanks for Reading & Good Luck - Jim

1) agree on the 28-105 + IS ... need a cheap and small FF kit lens
2) 50mm from canon. stabilized would be great.

That'd be definitely very nice!

I'll take that in a 12-24 or 14-24 2.8 and be more than happy.

For lenses I'd like to see reintroduced or updated: Canon 200 2.0.

I thought of that... But I figure the ability to use filters is quite nice without buying the large square filters and adapters and all that... Not sure if they can wider than 16mm and still be able to use filters in front of the lens (normal sized ones, that is!).

But I would LOVE a 14-28 f/2.8...

what ive really been wanting for a long long time was a canon 24-70 2.8is. The 24-70 is my most used focal length so i was willing to cough up the cost to get it.

6D; canon 85mm 1.8, Tamron 24-70mm VC, Canon 135L Canon 70-200L is ii

An IS version of the EF 28-105 II.
Any Vivitar Series 1 zoom manufactured by Tokina. The 28-105 and 70-210 f/3.5 were just sweet.

Many people buy the 70-200mm f/2.8 IS just to shoot it at 200mm @ f/2.8. Let's update the 200mm f/2.8L with IS and improved optics and keep it under $1000.
