I'd like an equivalent to the Canon 135mm f/2, with a reasonable price, that would fit Nikon cameras (so probably not one made by Nikon).

If I remember, according to Zeiss, they are unable to make AF lenses for Nikon or Canon for legal reasons.

Sigma seems to do it everyday. I don't think there is anything legal holding Zeiss back. They have a niche market providing best of class manual focus gear and seem to be happy to stay there.

Sorry, to clarify, the quote I remember was Zeiss mentioning it is impossible (for legal reasons or something similar) to make AF lenses for Canon and Nikon outside Japan, or for non-Japanese companies. I'll try to find that.

Edit: OK, I found the quote.

"Due to international licences, it is not possible at the moment for companies outside Japan to offer AF lenses with EF- or F – mount. So we will concentrate on high-end manual focus lenses with those mounts within the next future.

Best regards

Carl Zeiss Lenses Team
"

The AF Canon/Nikon lenses made outside Japan are still made by Japanese companies. I don't know if reverse engineering is something Zeiss just doesn't want to do and they would need to work with Canon/Nikon to make these lenses, or that it is really illegal for non-Japanese companies to make these lenses (whether they are made in Japan or not).

I'd love to see the Sigma 300-800mm f5.6 updated. This lens desperately needs stabilization.

Meyer Trioplan 100mm f/2.8 - but the company no longer exists :-/
But some Leica R lenses like the 100 Apo Macro would be interesting too.

I wish the Hubble space Telescope was available in an f/8 version. The they quit making them after the f/24 model.

You've lost me. Was there ever a 26mm lens made by Canon?

Sigma 100-300 F4 HSM updated to:

Sigma 100-300 F4 OS HSM ART w/ optic quality better than their 120-300 would be the win.

I kid you not that was the fastest focusing lens I have ever seen. Insane.
